This Simple Tomato Pasta Sauce is an immensely useful addition to anyone's culinary repertoire, whether you're a hungry teenager or a super busy parent. I released this recipe as a part of the collection for our teenage son, but I use it myself regularly. Hurray!

3 cloves of garlic sliced, or corsely grated
2tablespoonsoil for frying
400gramschopped tinned tomatoes
½tablespoonsugar
1 teaspoondry oreganooptional
salt
Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add three cloves of sliced (or grated) garlic and sauté (fry) for about 30 seconds. 👉 Note for my son: Don't worry about precisely timing the seconds. The main thing is not to let the garlic get brown.
Pour in the 400 grams of chopped tinned tomatoes. Add a small teaspoon of oregano and half of tablespoon of sugar and season with a pinch of salt. Give it all a good stir, and let the sauce gently simmer for about 15 - 20 minutes, stirring it now and then. This makes the flavours mingle, and the sauce thickens up (the water evaporates). It's like a flavour party in the pan!
Taste it again and adjust the seasoning if needed. It's your creation, so make it just how you like it.
Spoon your tomato sauce over cooked pasta (video: How to cook pasta). You can sprinkle fresh basil or parsley leaves on top to make your meal more gourmet-looking.
